What is the Forum Council?
Comprised of senior leadership from across campus, the Forum Council convenes monthly to set policy and establish long term goals for all aspects of the Forum. It is chaired by Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer, Kathy Johnson.
The objectives of the Forum Council are to:
- Collectively strategize on emerging initiatives and priorities at the university, state, and national levels that could potentially impact academic affairs and faculty affairs at IU Indianapolis.
- Connect efforts across undergraduate and graduate education, international affairs, enrollment management, faculty affairs and academic schools in order to ensure that strategic priorities are being achieved, while also providing a context for collectively addressing potential threats.
- Support faculty development and curriculum development aligned with strategic priorities and to ensure that there is a strong assessment plan for determining whether learning outcomes are met in order to support continuous improvement within these programs
- Provide an administrative structure to support the vision of The Forum outlined in the December 2016 CTL Task Force Report
- To develop agenda items for monthly Academic Deans Meetings
- To track progress toward and iteratively update campus strategic planning goals aligned with academic and faculty affairs (e.g., undergraduate student success, graduate education, faculty development, internationalization, and strategic enrollment management)
